Will The Cable TV Networks See The Light?

The Cable-TV networks are stunned by the drop in viewers. This year, so far, viewing of films on Cable-TV is down by 12%. The trade association, Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau, indicated that the primary reason for the drop is that “consumers are spending more time watching subscription streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, and Hulu Plus.” This is very good news for indie filmmakers.

From the beginning, the Cable-TV networks focused wholly on booking the Hollywood blockbusters, giving little room in their lineups for indie, foreign, and documentary films. This will change. Eventually, the Cable-TV networks will come to the realization that they need indie films to attract new subscribers and to retain their current subscribers.

We at CINEMAflix DISTRIBUTION are battling to get your films on these outlets as well as the major digital platforms. It’s part of our package. It’s our job.
