Booking a New York Cinema Ain’t Easy

“You must do the things you feel you cannot do.”—Eleanor Roosevelt

There are three reasons why booking a theater in New York (or Los Angeles) ain’t easy:

1. There are fewer independent theaters around. New York once had over 20 art house theaters. Now you can count them on the fingers of one hand.

2. Theater owners are less willing to take risks. Unless the filmmaker has a track record or the film features a well-known actor, the request is going to get a thumbs down.

3. Theater owners prefer dealing with established distributors. And these distributors are not buying too many indie films these days. Again, it’s all about risk.

Alas, the painful truth is that the theatrical run is essential to give your film exposure, credibility, and reviews. It’s got to happen.

Our CINEMAflix DISTRIBUTION program GUARANTEES your film a full one-week run at the prestigious Cinema Village in New York and/or Laemmle theater in Los Angeles. And, you’ll get to keep 100% of the box office income.

Whew! Problem solved.
